*On September 15th 2018 BJJ School Belfast hosted 3rd degree black belt and Inglorious Grapplers leader Jude Samuel for a seminar. Over the course of the three hours Jude showed some incredible techniques, beginning with a De La Riva guard-passing sequence, before moving on to some guard work. Here Jude introduced some split guard, lasso and lapel guard. The seminar was capped with the promotion of Conor Dunbar, kids’ and teens’ coach, to the rank of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt.
Seminars are incredibly important tools for keeping a club’s technique fresh. Guest instructors bring a range of new ideas and approaches to the game and help instructors and students stay on top of wider technical developments in BJJ. The techniques introduced by Jude will form the basis of the club’s Advanced classes over the coming weeks.
The seminar was supported by students from a number of different clubs across the north, from SBG Belfast, Gracie Barra, RMNU Ireland Team Torres and Rillion Gracie, based in Donegal. It was fantastic to see such support from our friends in other clubs. We look forward to welcoming Jude back in the near future, and working more closely with the other clubs within the Inglorious Grapplers team.
